Vinegar Hair Rinse

Had to steal this from my moms blog hehehehehehe

To use essential oils in hair care they should not be applied directly to your hair or scalp. They should first be mixed with a carrier oil or can be diluted in vinegar. Essential oils are expensive but do NOT use the cheaper fragrance oils. These are synthetic, can cause skin irritation and provide none of the benefits of natural botanical essential oils.

Essential oils are very strong and many can be skin irritants if not used correctly. Lavender is one of the very few essential oils that can be used directly on the skin, others will irritate skin if used full strength. Essential oils are expensive. But do NOT use the cheaper fragrance oils because these are synthetic, can cause skin irritation and provide none of the benefits of natural botanical essential oils.

Apple cider vinegar contains natural alpha-hydroxy acid which gently exfoliates the scalp and hair, removal of dead skin cells and build up that can occur from hair products. For conditions such as dandruff, apple cider vinegar can bring relief because of its anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties. In addition to being antimicrobial, apple cider vinegar is also anti-inflammatory, which can counteract the skin inflammation that typically occurs with dandruff and a dry, flaky scalp.

I have used white vinegar and Braggs Organic Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar, I had good results with both kinds.

Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse by Coconuts & Kettlebells

2-4 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
16 oz cool water
1-2 drops lavender oil

Directions
Mix all the ingredients in a bottle. After shampooing and rinsing your hair, lean your head back, pour the rinse over your entire scalp, allowing the mixture to run through your hair. Be careful to avoid contact with your eyes (I did it only once). Let the mixture sit on your hair for 1-2 minutes. Then, rinse throughly.

Another recipe, this is one that is very similiar to the one I used to use and I think I will try again:

Vinegar Conditioner for Healthier Hair

Mix one part of vinegar (apple or white) with three to four parts of water. (Experiment to see if you prefer apple or white vinegar as well as stronger or weaker hair rinse.)
Apply the vinegar mixture to your shampooed hair
Let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then, rinse. I do hope you like the smell of vinegar, it does not last long. (*** I only used 2 parts water)
